Congrats Elliott! Excellent goo skills my man.

As for me? I guess the saying "Always a bridesmaid...." is appropriate :)

Good round Scott! Very enjoyable. I'll be out of town quite a bit next round, so I look
forward to submitting a few goos.

Got to give a shout out to Russ, who just might have won again if not for that 50/50
radio goo.

And to Darth Goo: I know you'll bounce back next round! No doubt about it.

Peace everyone!

Hehe... thanks, Jerry. I really wanted to send you "Blathers" -- I was rooting for you to find him! And at least you get a smaller Amazon certificate... instead of a hideously ugly dress that you had to pay for and will never wear again. ;-D

Congratulations, Elliot... whoever you are -- you and Russ with your black hole images... I'd have been rooting for Jerry in any case, just because he has a face!!! ;-p

I wish I had submitted some of my goos this round, since I knew I wouldn't even make runner-up after a while... but I've just had other things on my mind.

Thanks Amy, you're too cool!

I have never even heard of that game and I couldn''t tell if that was an owl, a duck or some other fowl creature :) So I knew I was doomed if Elliot got it.

You should definitely submit some goos sometime. I can only imagine what you've got cooking in that Jedi mind of yours!

Thank you both for the congratulatory remarks! I’d just like to say a few things to each of you.

Jerry,

To say the very least, you are quite the formidable opponent! You have demonstrated a level of relentlessness and dedication that is nearly unparalleled in this game. Without a doubt, you have made this a memorable round, and I look forward to playing against you once again in subsequent rounds.

Amy,

I, too, believe that next round will see Darth Goo as a leading scorer, if not a third time champion. By the way, I remember that you made the following comment way back in mid-2005 when Steve Winwood was a goo. “And Elliot Farney better look out when I finally decide to submit a list of goo clues that I've been working on, too! ;-DDDDD.” So, whenever you’re ready to submit these goos, I’ll be on the lookout for what I am sure will be a challenge! (Perhaps one day, Amy, I will submit a photo of myself, but for the time being, I will let my identity remain somewhat of a mystery :)) On another note, send Ed my best, and I hope all is well with him as he is overseas.

Depending on when the next round begins and modifications made to the scoring system (in terms of how many goos will be in a round), I too will be out of town. Therefore, I will be making a few requests, as well.

I look forward to yet another round of Celebrity Goo Game, and I wish everyone the best.

Regards,

Elliot Farney

Hey,
Belated congrats to you, Elliot, my fellow midnight goo guesser. I think I'll join the crowd of people who will be making goo requests too. See you next round.

Hahaha...

Jerry, it was dumb luck that I found him -- I don't know video games, either... let alone play any. I just happened to see him in my search and go "whoa! I think I got it!!!" -- it was actually the least amount of effort that I have ever put into a goo rated "very hard"... I started at 2300 (just to make a half-hearted effort to steal away an Imelda ;-D), and I had the answer within about 15 or 20 minutes (needless to say, I was pretty darn proud of myself ;-p)

Elliot... you make me chuckle bringing up that comment -- and it feels an awful lot like a dare ;-D -- I just wish there was a way to submit goos without sacrificing your own chances for the win. I really should have submitted some of mine at the end of this round, but I wanted to do it Erik Bates-style: fully written clue, explanation, source image, and goo. I have done the first 2 or 3 steps for a right good many but haven't done any gooing as yet. My only means is Photoshop, and I ought to get on it in order to have my list ready for Scott when the time comes again. I don't know if I can rival Lori on her stumpers, but I will sure be trying! ;-D

And thanks, both of you, for trying to soften the blow of my loss this round... that is very thoughtful and generous of you. And since more than one person has said something about Ed still being overseas, I thought I would go ahead and mention it again (there was a "Welcome Back" discussion from Scott Hardie & Horowitz shortly after his return in late February) that he is back, safe and out of harm's way (sort of) -- thank you for your kind wishes on that. I don't know if he will be returning to TC or the Goo at all... all of his guesses this round were made upon his return -- just for old times' sake, I guess, because he's never been one to stay interested while "losing". Perhaps he will rejoin the next round -- I do miss the spousal competition -- but I cannot say for sure... there are a lot of things going on with him right now, and with his early return (only a couple of weeks, as part of the advance return party) and its attached incumbent responsibilities (the medical screening/processing of all returning Marines in his Group/Battalion, which meant the meeting of each and every return flight, etc.) this has been a very difficult and stressful homecoming, to say the least. In fact, he is currently on leave -- with "walking pneumonia" -- which is only adding to the worries, most of which I haven't even discussed here because he is a fairly private person... to a greater extent than I am. But for my own part, and on his behalf (since I don't know if he will read any of this or not), I would like to express gratitude for all of your continued kind wishes -- it does mean a lot to me.

Ah, the timing of posts minutes apart...

And, now that I've opened *that* link, I'm not sure if I want to laugh or to hurl. I guess there's always the possibility of both... though I think it would probably make for a very painful snarf. ;-p ;-DDDDD

Here're 2 things that I ponder about the goo game.
1) Do I really suck at it?
2) Do I have too much of a life to prosper at it?
3) I'm impressed on some of these obscure ones. My personal favorites are Lori's, I think those are the most challenging, and you really have to think about the clue to get them (unfortunately, I always put the word Japan in my searches)

I have one I requested that I think people may have some trouble with (might drive you more crazy than the Becky goo, Amy)

Next round I shall do my best to get a stupid goo nickname.

Your Humble Servant,
Silence Dogood

Next scoring system will let you fall behind and still win. I'm tired of seeing someone earn a Golden Imelda in week three (no disrespect) and then having a fairly solid lock on the win from there forward. It takes the fun out of it.
