What world leader, current or historical, would you have dinner with if you could, and why that person? Assume that there's a translator present.

Thomas Jefferson. What an incredible mind to have a hand in the Declaration of independence, The Constitution, and the acquisition of the Louisiana Purchase. Noted frequently as not a great orator, he was a master linguist when writing. Outspoken against slavery, he nonetheless held several slaves, only a few he granted freedom. Fluent in several languages, founder of the University of Virginia, first Secretary of State - a remarkable man.

I think I'd choose Abraham Lincoln, for reasons similar to Steve. He was a fascinating speaker who would make very entertaining conversation. He was noted for a sense of humor in private that rarely got a chance to show in public given the tumult of his presidency. I'd love to pick his brain about all sorts of topics.
