Seriously, though, I'm a bit worried about a computer that flies planes, even unmanned ones, these days. What happens if the computer crashes?

The plane crashes?
That's why they'll need to have redundant systems. Sure, there's always going to be a chance of catastrophic failure, but what happens if the tie rod on your car fails now? Anyone? Anyone?
Car goes out of control and crashes. Doesn't happen very often, so we just need to make sure that those who are making these brains make sure they are made well enough or there are enough emergency procedures that either they don't fail, or if they do, the plane doesn't crash.

Now this is just freaky. Scientist have built a living brain that can control unmanned airplanes. It's the beginning of Cyberdyne systems. Skynet is just forming....
