I dunno. If you hit a TV with a terrorist it might not cause as much damage as hitting the terrorist with the TV... wait a second, now that I read this thread, I realize this is not what you were talking about.

David Mitzman | November 12, 2004
I'm about 10 seconds away from throwing a tv at you, Scott Ho, and then peeing on you. I might be persuaded to not do that for the sum of $200 and a pie.

George W. Bush has nothing to do with this discussion, and I don't want to get him involved, but I have to say: If this is John Doe American, how could anyone have thought Bush had a chance of not getting re-elected?

Seriously, I read something in the weeks leading up to the election that people prefer Bush because he's like them. He's the kind of guy who watches "SportsCenter" while Kerry is the kind of guy who watches "News Hour." Well pardon the fuck out of me, but regardless of his political party, I'd much rather have the intellectual, news-watching president. It's his job to stay well-informed, so that I don't have to do it; that's representative government. Any old schmuck can watch "SportsCenter," but that's because the affairs of the world don't depend on his job performance.

It seems to me it's easier to forget we are killing human beings "over there" if we objectify them. I've noticed a lot of Americans have whipped themselves into a self-rightous patrotic frenzy. I've heard people say "just nuke them all", showing an amazing lack of respect for life. I guess it would be harder to get behind this war if they thought about the actual lives taken, some amount of those lives being cillivians.
Of course humans have been doing this for a long time, so it can't all be blamed on Bush... Oh what the hey! I blame Bush and the Media!

Anna Gregoline | November 12, 2004
People have in fact said "Nuke them all" on this site, so it's all over the place.

Todd Brotsch | November 12, 2004
The Episode should be re-aired in it's entirety on Saturday. CBS took alot of flack for their decision.

Guess they never heard of a bottom of the screen crawl.

Todd - What?

Scott Hardie | November 13, 2004
Well put, Deirdre. I would hope most people would agree with you; I certainly do. (And welcome to TC.)

Anna: I think Todd means a sort of news ticker along the bottom of the screen, like what is used during heavy storms; something to announce the news without interrupting the show.

Todd Brotsch | November 13, 2004
Right you are Mister Administrator....not to sound anything like Marlyin Monroe...Dirty Dirty man.

The show that was intruppted (CSI: NY) will be played again on Saturday

From Uncle Scoopy's Other Crap site - CBS Apologizes for Interrupting CSI: Will Rebroadcast Episode. "From now on, only Tony Danza's show will be interrupted for news bulletins."
