clue: He's practically Disney royalty, having been a Lion King, a royal guard in Star Wars, and the father of the princess Moana.
explanation: Laga'aia played Mufasa in a stage production of The Lion King, and Captain Typho in Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (which were not Disney productions at the time but are now owned by Disney along with the rest of Lucasfilm). He is the father of actress Catherine Laga'aia, who plays the title role in the 2026 movie Moana. more…
intended difficulty: medium
solved by: no one!
trivia: Scott failed to remember that a similar goo of Temuera Morrison had been published five years earlier. Both actors played Mufasa in stage productions of The Lion King, both actors had a claim to being Moana's father (Morrison having voiced the character of Chief Tui in the original film), and both had been in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Scott didn't intend for the Laga'aia goo to seem so much like Morrison, or he would have written a clue more clearly distinguishing the two actors and/or raised the difficulty. In accordance with the game's Advanced Rules, Scott deemed guesses for Morrison incorrect, since the clue mentioned a royal guard and that's not who he played (even by a creative interpretation of the phrase within the fictional universe), but Scott still felt lousy about making a mistake that cost players another solve.
