Evie Totty: “It was ok.”

I'm hate-watching these movies. I read the series and loved it. Not sure what is missing from this series... but something's missing.

I know one of the problems for me is the age of the actor portraying Four. He's only supposed to be a couple of years older than Tris but this guy is easily a decade or more older.

I can definitely see why the final film is going to be a made-for-TV. I guess I'm hate-watching mostly because I want to see if they'll end it the same way as the series.

Erik Bates: “It was ok.”

This series has really lost steam as it goes on.

Maybe the whole "Let's split the last book into 2 movies" money grab isn't always the best idea, eh?

They're shifting the conclusion into a TV show, and as a result are having to re-cast characters. I can't see how this could possibly go well.

Scott Hardie: I agree. I haven't seen the movies and don't really care, but observing the news as a bystander, it just seems like tempting disaster, creatively and financially. Hopefully this will end Hollywood's trend of splitting the last book into two movies, which has worn out what little welcome it ever had. − January 1, 2017 • more by Scott
