In the past, I have received a number of private comments from users who suspect that Chris is not using the site fairly, such as logging in as his family members or conspiring with other users to help each other. I have also suspected him myself at times. Over the last few weeks, I have discussed this situation at great length with Chris and his mother LaVonne, who refuted the claims with information to the contrary. I have also discussed it with some of the people who doubt him, and considered it thoroughly on my own.
I have concluded that Chris is not guilty of the things he has been accused of, and that all activity from Chris and his family members' accounts is legitimate. Furthermore, I apologize to Chris for letting him remain at the middle of an ugly controversy for this long.
While I have preferred to keep this entire situation private (it did leak out once), I'm making this public statement now because I think it's important to defend Chris as the site administrator. My opinion is goo.tc's opinion. It may not be your opinion, and I still want to hear from you privately if you have anything you want to tell me. However, unless proof to the contrary comes to light – and I use the word "proof" in the strictest possible sense, not mere suspicion – then I will not again place Chris under this kind of scrutiny or entertain the notion that he is cheating.
If you have any doubts about him, I encourage you to lay them aside and accept him for what he is, an enthusiastic user who happens to play on the site with his family a lot. While I would prefer not to spell out specific details of past incidents that would muddy his name further, please take my word for it that he deserves exoneration. This is the time to turn over a new leaf. We all just want to get along and have fun.
For those of you who have never heard of this controversy before, I hope this announcement hasn't been confusing. I have written this to address any lingering doubt about Chris's honesty that some site users have, and to create a place of reference for anyone who might doubt him in the future. Thanks for reading.
