Maybe. There's no right or wrong way to play Landmines, except what works to defeat your opponent in each instance. Some other stuff you can do with landmines:

- Play a card in a position that you normally wouldn't because it would be too vulnerable on one side, then lay a mine next to that weak side. It's now safe whether your opponent senses the mine's presence or not.

- Play mind games with your opponent: Make it seem like the mine is in a vulnerable space, then place it somewhere else and watch them step on it while being cautious. This is risky and rarely leads to victory, but it's fun as hell. :-)

- Negate the defender's advantage of having the final turn, by forcing their final play to be useless. You know they'll step on the mine if it's in the only space left.

- Step on your own landmine with the Multiply rule to capture every adjacent card. Thanks math!

- Waste the numerical bonus that your opponent gained from from Decades, Boost, Patience, or Sacrifice, since a landmine will overrule all of them.

- If your opponent is positioning cards to take maximum advantage of the Cascade rule, use a landmine (on one of their cards or even on your own) to break their carefully-arranged chain.

In my opinion, Landmines is one of the best play rules in Rock Block. It will be one of several play rules ported to Pirate Paradise.
