My first thought was, "What in the hell is going on in Texas?!" but the experts pretty much summed it up: This sort of thing does sadly go on everywhere, and it happens to get more news coverage when it occurs in Texas because of Andrea Yates. But yeah, it's a sad story no matter where it happens.
