Sounds like a cashing-in on Tolkien's name to me, but whatever, maybe it'll be a worthwhile book for fans. The grandson tried in vain to get paid from the movies so he's a little entitled.

I love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, but I couldn't get into The Silmarillion. I think it might be unwise for Tolkein's son if he has written anything to add to his manuscripts. Tolkein was a lingual genius, having made several entire languages for the books. The depth of his mythical worlds, characters and timelines are both extremely detailed and consistent. For anyone to attempt to step into his shoes would be folly I think.
