That's right, everyone! The twelfth book of the Wheel of Time series is now out. If you're one of those obsessive people who has to buy the hardcover and read right away (i.e. me), get out and get it!! I'm four or five chapters in and I don't think the writing quality has diminished much if at all! (For those of you who don't know or remember, the original author, Robert Jordan died a couple years back, and now a new author (Brandon Sanderson) is finishing the final book (which is actually getting broken into three books, because there's so many loose ends to tie up that they need three books instead of the planned one last book)).

If (like many, admittedly) you prefer to wait until the whole series is out, you're down to about two years from now, when the final final book will be out. Jordan actually had the ending written, and the rumors are that it's spectacular! 14 novels sounds pretty daunting, but, personally, the series keeps my attention well enough that I enjoy it very much.

And I'm always willing to lend out the first few books, if anyone is interested. Eventually, I'd like to re-read the whole series from start to finish. There is so much going on that you almost have to to remember everything that had happened previously!! :)

That's it. My personal advertisement for the Wheel of Time is over! :)

I am already stuck in the middle of one very-long-book-series-that-might-never-get-finished (by George R. R. R. R. Martin) so maybe I should pass on starting up another :). But glad you are finding the writing quality to be sufficient.

I am well familiar with the Song of Fire and Ice, so I understand entirely! :)

I might pick that back up now that I have a space in my reading rotation (Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series has finally come to an end!)...

George R.R. Martin is killing me w/ the wait but wait patiently I will. I wish I could have been there for the panel in MN.

I started Goodkind's Sword of Truth years ago and then just never picked it back up where it left off, after this long I think I would have to re-read the entire series

Dave, if you mean the one right next to Minnesota over in Fargo, ND, I was there. Some pretty good information was imparted. People were discussing everything that went on over here if you are extra curious. Nonetheless I am a bigger fan of Babylon 5 than of George R. R. Martin and would rather have been hanging out with Peter Jurasik like it turned out my husband was doing during Martin's book reading! :)

I'm on Chapter 5 of gathering storm but I only get about a chapter a night because school so it will be a long read for me
