So many movies this year are remakes of 80s titles, or sequels that ignore the gap of two or three decades since their predecessors, or are thoroughly infused with 80s nostalgia. Even movies that have nothing to do with the 80s, like Date Night or Grown Ups, felt like they belonged more in that era than ours. Are you enjoying this trend while it lasts? I wonder if one of the reasons Inception was so hotly anticipated is that Hollywood was finally creating a wholly original work for once.
