It seems like we left just in time.

Awesome! How was the honeymoon? Where did you end up going? Also, good goodness, is it actually warm enough in Florida to use A/C?!?!

I love how my website goes offline for 24 hours shortly after I announce that I'm back from a two-week hiatus. It was beyond my control, but I got a lot of other post-trip offline stuff finished at least.
It was a great honeymoon! We did a ton and loved most of it. I will write about it all in the next few days, with photos. And yeah, it's definitely warm enough in Florida now to use A/C. We chose California partly to stay warm on a late March trip, but California is so much further north in latitude than where we live that we found ourselves shivering and wearing coats for several days on the trip. We are wimps. :-) Thankfully it only rained once - great weather, great views, great relaxing trip. More details to come asap.

Thanks for putting up with my absence for so long. I have now written at length about the wedding and the honeymoon if you want to see how the time was spent.

And now I'm about to disappear again for a few more days, for a family emergency. I'll be back online asap.

I'm back, again. I wish I could say that the occasion for which I left was a happy one, but it was unavoidable and I'm glad to have made it to Illinois in time. I've now spent 22 days away from home in the last few weeks; all I want is my own bed and my own shower and my own car, and a day or two in front of my own computer.

Kelly and I returned from our honeymoon last night, and it's such a relief to be home. The first three things that Kelly did upon entering the house pretty much sum up our priorities:
1) Turn on the air conditioning. (We live in Florida after all.)
2) Open the wedding gifts that had arrived in the mail.
3) Start playing Minecraft.
The familiarity of using your own shower and your own bed and your own car again is such a relief. What's your favorite part of coming home after a trip?
As for Funeratic, my attention to the site gradually decreased over the last few months as planning the wedding and honeymoon took up more and more of my time, and I disappeared completely for the last two weeks while in California. Now that it's all over, I look forward to being fully engaged with the site again, starting with blog posts covering those two big events in my life. It's good to be back!
