So now we have moved on to watching Fullmetal Alchemist. We borrowed season 1 from the library. I quite like it. I never got tired of the main recurring joke yet :P. And Ed's a cutie. I know, you all were dyingt to hear more about my bizarro taste in, er, "men"... haha :) We will probably wind up buying season 2, since it is not at the library and is quite cheap at Walmart. Yeah for some reason Walmart seems to be a lot lower than Amazon on some of these items.

Sorry to Lori and any other fans if I've sounded overly negative about anime. I'm just an overly negative person I guess.I like all we've seen. That's why it's all I've been writing about!

Also to Lori, you did a marvelous job on the Fullmetal military uniform. I didn't even remember that that was the show, but when I saw the uniforms I remembered seeing the photos (a lot of years ago, probably!) of Ray in the costume you made. It's quite accurate.

For what it's worth, you don't come across as negative about anime. You wouldn't still watch it if you didn't like it. :-)  I'm glad you're enjoying it so far.

I love waking up early

I got up before 5, took a shower, did a bunch of my fun and addictive getting-free-stuff-on-the-internet activities, had breakfast, and went and found some treasures in Kameo, all before heading out to work at 7:50. That was awesome. We always go to bed before 10 anyway so what's the point hanging around in bed in the morning when I'm not tired. Go »

Cocoa spills and Larry David

In a freak accident, I managed to splatter my husband's entire mug of cocoa all across the kitchen this morning, 1 minute before I had to leave for work. I apologized a bunch of times and kept asking if I should call in and tell them I'm going to be late so I could clean it up... but he said he'd try to clean it up. Go »

D&D first impressions

So our books came yesterday and I've been reading the Dungeon Master's guide as scheduled while Darrell's been reading the Player's Handbook. It's quite obvious I am going to have to read the Player's Handbook too since there is not so much actual useful information in the DM guide. It has lots of pages about different playing styles, how to handle different personalities in your group, and weird stuff like how to write cryptograms, but not so much useful data on the actual rules. Stupid stuff

Well the most exciting thing to report is I've developed a crush on a TV character. I think this is a pretty clear sign that I need a life. It's not even a remotely original or interesting choice (besides being behind the times) and I don't actually like bad boys dammit :P Go »

The Two Towers

So last week Darrell's friend Mike discovered on Wikipedia that Galesburg, North Dakota, a town near where Darrell and Darrin grew up and where they often hung out at the cafe, actually has the third tallest structure in the world. I find the photo on the wikipedia page rather amusing, by the way, due to its unusual dimensions. Upon discovering this, Mike, Darrell, and Darrin immediately drove out to pay the tower a visit. Cereal

Scott mentioned having 5 boxes of cereal - that is nothing, I just did a quick count at home and we have at least 25! Some extras might be lurking in other rooms of the house! It's quite unbelievable really. Go »
