Scott Hardie: “It was ok.”

This well-researched, CGI-polished documentary tells just about the best story that can be told about the classic board game, meaning that it sometimes strains to come up with 90 minutes of material. The best scenes are play-by-play coverage of championship games, but it moves so fast there that it's hard to keep up with the specifics of who's trading what properties and why. Reminiscent of Trekkies, it's a good-natured profile of the kind of nerdy personality who gets really obsessively deep into something fun and innocent.
