I have no idea what title to put on this! I have a friend (just the one) who is going to Chicago for a vacation next month (I don't know why!) to see one of her friends who recently moved there. She mentioned that she has no idea what they all are going to do there, and I thought to myself, "Hey! I think I know a happy group of people who might have great ideas about fun things to do in Chicago!" Or at least I think there's a big group of current/former Chicago natives...I get confused easily. If I'm wrong...I guess you can all make fun of what a dummy I am.

Anyone got any ideas? Fun things that people might otherwise miss in Chicago? Local secret spots that shouldn't be missed?

Oh, and my friend is a vegetarian (I don't know why...KIDDING), so if you can suggest eating venues that cater to vegetarians, that would be great as well.

I hope I get a good response...but I guess she's going either way, so...

Do you have any idea what part she'll be staying at? Chicago is vast! I'll try to help.

Well, I honestly don't know any vegetarian places in Chicago. It's a city of people who like meat. Vegans be warned....we like our sausage, beef and pork.

There is plenty of fare and entire restaurants that cater to vegetarians and vegans here - I can find out some favorite haunts of my sister, if you like.

You know, she told me the area, too, and I forgot the paper I wrote it on! :( I'll be back on Monday.

And she's really keen to hear any vegetarian places, as she's heard from other people that there's not too many places there!!

My best friend is vegan, but that doesn't help with the geographical part -- sorry. However, I did enjoy Six Flags and the Sears Tower for the couple of days that I was there... (I know -- about as gay/touristy as it gets... but I haven't lived there, only visited post-boot camp!!!)

And speaking of proximity to other goo gamers... Dave and Scott, you're welcome to come up and check out my new digs, if you're so inclined -- I know the tolls are a freakin' killer, though!!!

Wicker Park area is where she'll be staying at, but she plans on seeing as much stuff as possible. She also will be around something called "The Loop", which she wasn't sure what that meant (and neither do I).
