Party Dips and Chips

Hidden Valley Ranch Party Dip. Recipe on the side of the package. Though it tastes like they've changed the recipe sometime in the past. That or the taste of Breakstones sour cream has changed or maybe my tastebuds have changed, but I still like it alot.

Most favorite: Ketchup. I put it on hot dogs and hamburgers. I put it on fish sticks and fish filets. I put it on steak (take that, Steak & Ale!). I put it in casseroles. I even put it on my vegetables. I put it on just about everything. Oddly, the only thing I don't like to eat with ketchup is French fries.
Least favorite: Ranch salad dressing. Sorry John. It simply offends my taste buds; no real reason.

I sat here trying to explain my dislike of ranch, but my schoolin' has failed me. All I can say it, just doesn't appeal to me.

Has anyone here ever had ketchup-flavored potato chips? Brilliant stuff.
And I prefer mayo to ketchup on fries.

I have a mild dislike for any "exotic" flavored potato chip - even barbecue or sour cream and onion. But I do like brown gravy as a dip for my fries.

Scott: Ketchup on a hot dog is a crime. An absolute crime. LOL
Lori: Thousand Island dressing on a cheeseburger with lettuce? I can go around the corner and get that. It's called a Big Mac. LOL
Personally, I put mustard on my Hot Dogs and burgers. Sometimes I feel adventureous and put ketchup and mayo on my burger along with the mustard.
No ketchup on fries or rings for me, thank you.

I couldn't believe it the first time I travelled to the US and couldn't get ketchup flavored chips. Madness. You guys are also missing out on poutine. Not hard to make though, so you could be enjoying it. Fries, mozzarella cheese and gravy. Good stuff.

Fries, mozzarella chese and gravy? I think they call those "Disco Fries" in the diners here in NYC.

Disco Fries

I like that a lot better. It's a little easier to pronounce.

I don't slather a hot dog in ketchup, mind you. It's the same reason why I put a little bit of mayonnaise on every sandwich, to make it moist. Nine times out of ten, a little bit of ketchup is all I put on my hot dog.
Wikipedia (link) says that poutine is fries and cheese covered with gravy, and disco fries are fries and gravy covered with cheese. Given the similarity, I'd just as soon call them "disco fries" too.
