There is so much to place under this header that it should never drop off page one, top.

Let's make it the longest discussion on the site, folks!

To start: Scott Hardie ran Fin de Siecle and made it amazing fun through thick and thin and all other densities.

Steve Dunn | February 5, 2008
Scott Hardie actually took me up on my offer to come see a NASCAR race and was a great sport even though he was uncomfortable and felt sick from food poisoning the whole time.

Besides Google, there's only one site that I must visit every day. This isn't a tribute to the site itself (although it could be), it's more of a testimonial to Scott himself. He, in large measure, fosters the community that makes the site what it is. The web is chock-a-block with games that are interesting and riveting, even. Only one site is visited by people that I've come to care about and is maintained and nurtured by one of the most gracious human beings that I've encountered. It is undeniably my great fortune to have accidentally found a site and community that has become a daily part of my life. Thank you Scott.

Scott is awful nice. He came to my stupid wedding in North Dakota in February and he did all kinds of nice things for my 30th birthday. I don't know how I'll ever make it up to him, but I'm gonna try :P. (By "stupid" I mean it was a pretty basic affair without wonderful catered meals or anything, I feel stupid about inviting people but I'm immeasurably happy to have had the wedding itself!)

Um... not that I at all think that it's unwarranted to start such a discussion for no apparent reason, but... is Scott dying? He hasn't been in any kind of accident that I haven't heard about, has he???

Whether or not all's well (and I hope it is!), I am totally onboard, and the best thing I could possibly say is... "What Steve said."

Seriously, though... that's a hard one to follow without just wanting to reiterate, but I will try.

I, too, stumbled upon this site... (and at the beginning of a lot of big changes and transitions in my life -- struggling in my marriage, leaving the military as an active member, not knowing what occupation was next...), and I can tell you for a fact that in my three and half years here (is that all?), this site has oftentimes been the only source (besides my beloved dogs) of any kind of joy or satisfaction and never disappoints, even despite some times of tension among certain of us TC authors. I feel like I have a friend I've never "met" in at least four or five different states... all of whom are welcome to "drop in" for a while if they're ever in my neck of the woods. Along with good conversation -- some of it offline -- I have found comfort and chuckles here that are as meaningful to me as if from my best friends... all of which I have Scott to thank for and not the least of which has been from Scott himself! His caring and compassion and generosity with people who've only had the privilege of typewritten communication exceeds many with whom I have daily personal contact -- he is truly a superlative individual whose company I am very glad to have found, and I look forward to the day that I get to consecrate that opinion with a personal meeting. Thanks for everything, Scott.

Now. WHERE can I make my donation??? I want an answer, dammit!

Being a relative new-comer to the site, (and having never met the man,) I can't speak much to this, though I will try. As was said above, this is one of the very few sites that I check on a daily (though more often hourly) basis. Everything I have seen here shows just how committed to this community and site Scott actually is. From fighting web hosts to make sure the site is up and running as intended, to posting, and continually improving the site, he has single handedly made this site a work of art. I am happy to have been introduced to the site, and greatly look forward to future additions and expansions, (and maybe hopefully someday meeting the legend that is Scott Hardie.)

You all rule! Here I was, tired and cranky at the end of a five-day move, ready for a cursory check of my site before crawling back into work tomorrow. And you just made my week. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :-) Big hugs for all. I'm grateful to have friends and online companions as true as you.

I had kicked around the idea of starting a similar discussion, so I guess now is as good a time as any.

No donations are necessary, thanks. Other than prize money in the contests, the site doesn't cost me anything; I'm paid up for a long time on my services. Future plans will cost more than donations can help with, but they'll be worth the expense.

Shoot! I didn't in before Scott read this topic!

Scott is, pretty much, the same great guy in person that he is on this site. I'm glad that I met him at gaming, and I hope to keep his friendship for a long long time to come. He freely shares everything he has (especially his time...as everyone here knows well), and he even is kind enough to continue to invite me into his home from time to time, to take advantage of his gaming consoles, and learn to be the best Wii doctor that I can!

And we still discuss what Skullbucket would do in any given situation, so you know you've had a huge impact on the whole gaming group, even though we haven't seen you in a while!!!

Ok, so I have been watching this TC page for a couple of day's now and I don't know what to say about Scott but that he is a great guy in my book. I know I am not one of the newest members on this site but I was introduced to this site by my father-in-law Russ and have been on this site everyday since. I think the thing I love the most is the competitiveness among the other players and especially my wife Joanna, something Scott has added to our marriage, "thanks Scott".

All and all this has been one of the greatest sites I have ever been on thank you Scott!!! Also thanks to all the players that make the site the way it is...

I have never met Scott, and have only "known" him online for a few months, but everything I've seen of him has reinforced my idea that he has to be one of the most helpful, generous and long-suffering people in the world. Thanks for this very cool site, Scott.

Scott Hardie | February 10, 2008
Thank you! I couldn't ask for better group of people to share my online time with. :-)

Kris Weberg | February 20, 2008
Scott Hardie is so modest and gracious as to create the Compliment Chain discussion as a democratic alternative to this one.

Steve Dunn | February 20, 2008
I don't know if the rest of you have noticed this, but Scott Hardie is smart.

Like, really smart.

Steve West | February 21, 2008
Funny, too. One of my biggest laughs of the year was his recounting of the now infamous Nascar field trip. And the best part about it all was that he intended it to be funny. I laughed hard and never felt that I was laughing at him but truly with him. Scott's sense of humor is Gleasonesque (a very good thing).

Scott Hardie | February 22, 2008
Thank you. :-) If you're going to call me a genius, at least make me an evil genius.

In all honesty, I had thought of that Compliment Chain discussion a few months earlier when it was more needed, and I was too lazy to get around to it until now. But I guess I'm supposed to be positive about myself here, so, uh... I rule.
