Has anybody else watched Netflix's prequel series? (NSFW trailer)

I liked the original movie well enough, but I'm four episodes into the series and finding it hard to continue. Nearly every character is a jerk or an idiot or both, and these two personality traits are cranked up to noxious levels. I don't like any of these people, new or old, and very few of the jokes merit even a smile.

Bojack Horseman (also NSFW trailer) got off to a similarly off-putting start, but it's insane how much better that series got over the course of its first season; it was practically a completely different show by the end. Wet Hot I doubt will pull off the same feat. Should I stick with it?

When did you first see the movie?

Hmm. I had a theory that the movie was poorly-received when it came out and has only gradually gained cultural appreciation, but if you saw it that recently, perhaps not.

In any event, I listened to Kelly and finished the television series, and I'm glad that i did, because it got better, and gave us more characters that we could root for.

Spotify has the original five-minute version of the Bojack Horseman theme music and it's kind of awesome.

As long as we're talking about Netflix shows, did anybody else watch Grace and Frankie? I just finished season 1 and I have mixed feelings. Some of it is very funny when the writing is sharp, especially in the first few and last few episodes, and I laughed out loud several times. But there's a stretch in the middle where it sags, when it gets too serious about the sadness inherent in the premise without keeping up the jokes, and what humor is there tends to be of the manufactured sitcom variety, like forced misunderstandings and trapped-in-an-elevator nonsense. I wonder what anybody else thought of it.
