explanation: In 2006, Mollath was convicted of aggravated assault of his wife and attempts to harm her co-workers at a bank by slashing their tires. However, he was declared criminally insane and confined to a psychiatric hospital, based on his elaborate conspiracy theory of the bank engaging in a complex scheme of tax evasion and trying to silence him. In 2012, evidence came to light that confirmed nearly all of Mollath's claims and the fabrication of evidence against him.
