It's been a while since we had one of these, and the start of a GOO round seems like a good time. This Sunday, you're invited to try Rock Block for the first time, and/or play lots of matches if you're already experienced. The goal is to get lots of people playing together at the same time. Details here. With luck, I'll have a new element of the game to unveil at the time.

OMG! I need an R8 to have one card of every rank!!! I have to play as many people as possible!

Of course, the way my luck's been going, I'll lose some other cards in pursuit of the R8, and I still won't make the achievement, but it's worth a try!

Also, is there any significance to this being on 4/20??? ;)

Amy Austin | April 17, 2008
I'm having the same dilemma with an R9, Aaron -- I'd play you to lose my R8 and win an R9, but I only have one, and I'm betting that you do, too!

Amy, since you have 2 R10s, and I am in desperate need of one, and similarly i have 2 R8s, that you are desperately in need of one, would you entertain a concert of say R30ish for 1 trade? I would certainly risk an 8 for a 10. Seems like a better deal for me, but just throwing the offer out there.

Aaron Shurtleff | April 17, 2008
Amy: Yeah, I do only have the one R9. I keep hoping one of my 5 R7's will get raised up, but so far, no good.

Eric: I'm in more desperate need of an R8! But, since I can never seem to get a victory against you, and I only have 1 R10, that won't work for me. :)

Cool I'll hit 50 cards by Sunday regardless

Amy Austin | April 17, 2008
Eric... needing the R9, not the R8 -- and ditto on what Aaron said!

Aaron... yeah, I hear ya' -- I keep hoping the Everlys will merit some love one of these times, but 1) I'm sure there are other R8s that will warrant it sooner, and 2) then I'll be stuck like you, unless an R7 I have happens to get promoted, too!

I tried to come up with a 420-related phrase that I liked for the event name, but I drew a blank. I'm open to suggestions.

Sunday's the day to "Mow the grass".

Oh, gimme a break -- I can't even beat you (or Denise) yet!

Aaron Shurtleff | April 20, 2008
If I had to hand pick a R2 to get, that would be the one I'd pick! Yay!!!

Aaron Shurtleff | April 21, 2008
Oh CRAP!! And Clapton made it to R8!!! It's the best day ever!!!

What is my new achievement... I better go look!!

Scott Hardie | April 21, 2008
Thanks for making this a great day, everybody! The R8 raffle winner was Dave Stoppenhagen. The player with the most different opponents was a tie, eleven each for Steve and myself, so we each get an R10. Everybody who played gets an R2: Steve, Russ, Chris, Amy, Aaron, Joanna, Justin, Tony, Dave, Denise, Erik, Lori, and me. Details are here for one more day.

Fyi, Scott, I just got the weird text enlarging effect when I cleared this discussion -- happened earlier today, too, when we were talking about themed concert errors...

Amy Austin | April 21, 2008
But not the second time I cleared it just now... strange.

Aaron Shurtleff | April 21, 2008
I may have only played four (maybe five?) different folks, but I had a blast! Thanks to everyone I played yesterday, and good luck to everyone I will be playing in the future.

The past is behind me, but thanks to everyone I've played in the past. :)
