I'm writing this from Tel Aviv! Israel rocks! I'm back in the states on Tuesday morning. Later all! No more 'net till then.

OK so I'm back from Israel as of 2 days ago. Many pictures to be posted. One of the guys in our group registered a domain for us and is posting everyone's photos (over 4000 at last count). I'll post the domain when it's nice and ready.

I for one think he left about a month too early... Just kidding

One of my friends was living in Haifa, she's now home in NY

Thanks guys. As much as I'd love to go up and take on the Hezbolah, I'm happy cranking away at my keyboard developing CTS (carpal tunnel). As for Horowitz, I think he's a big supporter of Hezbolah. Ya know the government never reads the internet message boards for things like that.

he's just annoyed because I was planning on calling customs and telling them that he was smuggling cocaine into the country in his rectum

Was he doing it for the money, or was it just an excuse to stick something in his rectum?

As bad as this tragedy is in Israel, it just struck home. My friend's baby brother was KIA yesterday in Lebanon

I hope the blow the whole fucking country up.

This is the first time someone I knew has died in action. I haven't seen him in years, but all I picture is the little kid I knew with a bullet through his head.

I didn't know anyone personally who died in 9/11 or in Iraq, and this just hurts. He volunteered to be in the army, and I'm kinda proud of him, but it's just stuff like this that makes me question war itself.

First, let me say to Scott Horowitz:

I'm very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how hard this must be for your friend and his family, and on you. There's probably not much anyone here can do for you, but you know you've got friends here if you need to talk, vent, or even goof around a little to get away from this stuff for a while.

And I definitely understand the rage. I may not want all of Lebanon blown up, but I do remember wanting someone to bomb most of the countries in the Middle East on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, whether that made "head" sense or not. And I didn't even know anybody who died that day.

I hope someday life in that region becomes better and safer. I hope that things are less painful for you, your friend, and his family much sooner than "someday."

Yes, Scott, sorry to hear about your friend. Unfortunately, when you have war, you'll end up having people being killed. But I don't think we'll ever stop war as long as people feel hatred toward someone else. It's just an ugly truth of the human race.

My thoughts go out to you and his family. As you say, he joined the army and was doing what he wanted, that might not make his death any easier, but he was supporting his country.

Scott Hardie | August 3, 2006
My condolences. I wish peace for you and his family after this.

Michael Paul Cote | August 3, 2006
So sorry Scott. It's not much, but take consolation in the fact that he died doing something he strongly believed in.
