Tooth in Advertising

Every time I go to the local Carmike cinema and watch their pre-show reminders montage, I wind up thinking about dentists. First they show King Kong howling with those yellowish fangs – he needs a veterinary dentist. Then it's the pirates of the Caribbean; they have gold teeth so they need dentists too. Then there's a lot of people drinking Coke, and they'll need lots of dentists, except the one guy who's about to take a sip when his girlfriend jumps and yanks it away from him; he probably won't. Then there's Arnold in T2 (nice contemporary-film reference); he gets into a lot of fights so he probably needs a dentist. And last of course, they show Harry Potter, who's British.

Kelly and I just took a short vacation to Gatlinburg: Two days there, with two full days of driving to make it happen. We've been itching to get out of the house during this awful pandemic (and to use Kelly's PTO before it expires), but with options limited for places to go safely, we realized that we could rent a cabin with family and just go hiking and birdwatching and grilling, avoiding crowds in favor of natural spaces. We weren't planning to get another cat until maybe late spring, but a friend had to move in a hurry and find homes for her cats, so we agreed to adopt one.
