Did You Vote Yet?
Well? Did you?
Matthew Preston | September 1, 2010
Yes and I voted for you. Did you play your games in Rock Block yet? ;-)

I'm partial to the Kelly Lee Wildest Attack Strategy and the Aaron vs Steve Nemeses categories. Scott are there any Academy like rules against campaigning for your favorites?
Scott Hardie | September 1, 2010
Nope. I was surprised it didn't start sooner.
Steve West | September 1, 2010
For your consideration...
Aaron Shurtleff | September 2, 2010
I did not start this to campaign for myself! Honestly, it was more to make sure as many people as possible voted. Make your voice heard!!
...ok. I did it to have an excuse to put that Bono picture up... Hate U2. :P

I compiled the "Funniest Sentence Taken Completely Out of Context" nominees by drawing random sentences from around the site until I had a good blend. Amy's hilarious comment was the very first one that came up, and it had me in stitches for hours. I knew that the category, and in fact the entire ballot, was going to work when I saw that sentence come up. If I have any favorite on the ballot, it's that one.

You know, I still get pooh poohed every time I tell people not to see The Hangover because it is so not funny. :D Humor is subjective, I guess.

I can talk about other categories if there's interest. I was unsure for the longest time about having a "Favorite Blog" category, since it comes close to being a simple popularity contest, which the other categories try to avoid. (You're supposed to vote on how much you like the blog, not necessarily the blogger, but it's a narrow distinction.) In the end, I chose to go with it because I wanted blogs to have a place of prominence in this, and I couldn't think of a more indirect way of including them that didn't veer too closely to the other categories. I nominated all blogs that had at least ten posts within the last year, which unfortunately left out a few quiet but popular titles, but that's what the write-in option is for.

I hear you, Aaron. I'm from Chicago; I used to risk being lynched for saying that Ferris Bueller's Day Off and The Blues Brothers aren't very funny.
Scott Hardie | September 2, 2010
Steve, I have three points to make in counter-argument.
* U.S.A.!
* U.S.A.!
* U.S.A.!

Sources that wish to remain anonymous say that Steve Dunn is the non-voting fuddy duddy. This is a Fox News exclusive!
Steve Dunn | September 2, 2010
Haha, funny thing is, I cast the "non-voting" vote and then went ahead and voted anyway.
With each vote, I pondered how Aaron Shurtleff would vote and tried as nearly as possible to do the opposite.
