Just As I Suspected...

A panel of experts (a group of listeners to Britain's BBC 6) have determined the worst duet in history. Obviously this group has no credentials or necessarily any credibility and history is such a long time. But that's a pretty good vote if schmaltz makes a song bad. I would have voted for a song that would be the musical equivalent of a mosquito in my ear (Bowie and Jagger duet not a bad pick).

Christmas Post # 18: It's The Force, Not An Empty Box
My brother is a collector of sorts. He has various bits of Civil War memorabilia, Washington Redskins gear, and science fiction flotsam from Star Trek and Star Wars. If these toys actually existed, he'd be one of the first in line. Go »

Sometimes Comedy = Pain
Once upon a time, the entire clip of this sketch was available on-line. It's been removed from YouTube but I found it here in a shortened version. It's too bad because the full explanation of what they're doing and why they're doing it makes it that much more enjoyable. Go »
My Child is a Kite
Parenting is like flying a kite. When I was a boy of nine, I went out to fly a kite on the banks of the Potomac River. The Virginia border sat just across the river. Go »
Just My Lucky Day, I Guess
Weekly shopping trips have been largely uneventful of late because of the absence of you know who, UOAS. She kind of startled me with her presence at the Safeway tonight and I wondered if God specifically was observing my sense of satisfaction over her MIA status. She noted my surprised expression and commented, "Long time no see!" Go »

Personally, I would have picked the *other* McCartney duet (with Michael Jackson) -- have you ever heard that one??? That song is pure, unadulterated Velveeta cheese food product, and the dopier/more annoying tune by far. The way more ubiquitous quality of "Ebony & Ivory" is the only reason I can imagine for it getting beat out. Just my opinion.
